Bio

Jenai_Shively_photoJenai Cutcher just received an MFA in Dance from The Ohio State University. She tap dances, writes about dance, teaches dance, and makes dance movies. She has performed with Brenda Bufalino, Savion Glover, Derick Grant, Lynn Schwab, Rumba Tap, Ritmico, and Tap City, among others, in venues such as The Joyce Theatre, Symphony Space, and the Duke on 42nd Street. Her first documentary, Thinking On Their Feet, has recently been screened at The Wexner Center for the Arts in Columbus, OH, Southern Utah International Film Festival, and Newfilmmakers Film Festival in New York. In addition to being a dancer, choreographer, and teacher, Jenai has worked as a writer for the past 12 years. She wrote three books about dance for Rosen Publishing, contributed articles and reviews to The Village Voice, Dance magazine, Dance Teacher, and several online publications. She is currently working on a book about the history of dance in Columbus.
